The WFM Committee is pleased to report that we have a full complement of staff for the 2019 Farmer’s Market season!
We have commitments from the following:
AnnMarie Gallivan of Wakefield has signed on as the new Farmers Market Manager. She is a small business owner of the Albion Cultural Exchange on Albion Street and is an active member of the Wakefield Community.
Karen Beasley of Stoneham is the new Farmers Market Coordinator. She works for the Trustees of Reservations in Boston and the Kitty Connections a local non-profit animal rescue group. We feel she has the skills and enthusiasm to handle anything that happens on farmers market day.
Heather Tribe, our former Co-Market Manager, will continue to be the Market Bucks bookkeeper for the season.
Wendy has agreed to stay on to get everyone up to snuff so there will be a smooth transition of the market to the capable hands of the new team. The volunteers are still needed and will hopefully take on a larger roll to be trained in some of the background protocols so that no matter what the future brings we will have people to step in to help during an emergency.
We are all looking forward to the 2019 Wakefield Farmers Market season. Now we need to hope for sunny lovely weather for the all the Saturdays this summer through fall and a good local crop!
There will be lots of news coming within the next few weeks! In the meantime, we are busy lining up music, nonprofit guests, special events, and a pilot cooking demo program involving local chefs. Stay tuned! Things will be update soon!
