A Heartfelt Thank You for an Incredible Market Season

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Saturday for our final Wakefield Farmers Market of the summer season. What a turnout—and what a perfect fall day to close out another incredible year at the market!

While the day was bittersweet—filled with smiles, hugs, and bags overflowing with local goodness—it’s always a little sad to see the season come to an end. It’s been another fantastic year filled with fresh food, amazing vendors, community connections, and so much more.

Of course, we’re already looking forward to our Wakefield Holiday Markets on the Lake this November, but before we get there, we want to take a moment to reflect and give thanks.

To our vendors who show up every Saturday—rain or shine, tired but enthusiastic, ready to share their incredible products with all of you—thank you.To our loyal customers and neighbors from Wakefield and surrounding towns who continue to shop local and support small, we are so grateful for you.And to everyone who stops by the Market Booth each week to say hello, donate, or share updates—you are the heartbeat of this market.

The saying “it takes a village” couldn’t be more true here. Food has a special way of bringing people together—whether it’s at the market or around the table—and these moments of connection are what matter most.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for another wonderful season. We can’t wait to see you again soon at our Holiday Markets (stay tuned for more details next week!).

In the Spirit of Gratitude and Community

As part of our ongoing mission to support food access, we want to share some important information for those who use SNAP and HIP benefits. The Wakefield Farmers Market partners with the Wakefield Food Pantry to help ensure that everyone in our community has access to fresh, healthy, local food.

If you’re a SNAP or HIP user, please note the following:

  • Leave at least $1 balance on your SNAP card to continue using your HIP benefits.

  • HIP will continue to operate, as it is a state-run program.

  • You can still use any remaining SNAP balance on your card.

  • The Wakefield Food Pantry remains a valuable local resource.

  • We will also continue our SNAP Match Program at the November 22 Holiday Market.

For anyone facing an immediate need, resources are available through the Project Bread FoodSource Hotline at (800) 645-8333, as well as local food pantries. DTA offices also remain open and can assist with other services.

State-funded programs—including HIP, TAFDC, and EAEDC—will continue operating as usual. EBT cards will still function in November with any carryover benefits, though no new funds will be added during a federal shutdown.

For the most current updates, please visit mass.gov/SNAPupdates.

If you are not personally experiencing food insecurity but want to help, please consider making a donation or reaching out to learn more about how you can support local food access initiatives.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’re here to help.
