A Place to Gather, Grow & Shop Local

2 min read

Another week has gone by, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to the Market over Labor Day weekend!

It’s starting to feel a little more like fall, but don’t worry—we still have plenty of time left in our Market season, and we have all sorts of exciting things coming your way this weekend. In fact, it’s going to be a jam-packed Saturday with 45 vendors, live music, Curious Creatures, and more!

More Than a Place to Shop

The Farmers Market is a place for community, fresh local food, families, music, and supporting small businesses. But it’s also something else: a little bit of a small business incubator.

Markets give businesses a place to start, experiment, meet customers, and grow. For established storefronts, they can provide another source of income to help balance the costs of running a brick-and-mortar business. For newer entrepreneurs, a farmers market can be the place where an idea first becomes a real business.

And one of the really special parts of running a Market is getting to watch those businesses grow.

Sometimes that growth even means saying goodbye—or at least, “see you later”—as a vendor moves on to something new.

Celebrating Desserts by Nathan

This Saturday will be Desserts by Nathan’s last Market of the season as Chef Nathan prepares for an exciting next chapter in his business journey!

Chef Nathan will be beginning a new partnership at French Press Cafe in Needham, MA, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where this next step takes him.

Please stop by his booth on Saturday, congratulate him, and, of course, load up on baklava, cakes, and all of your favorites before he wraps up his season with us. Be sure to ask Nathan the best way to stay in touch and find out how you can continue supporting Desserts by Nathan as his business grows.

This is exactly the kind of growth we love getting to witness at the Farmers Market.

Curious Creatures is Back!

In more exciting community news, Curious Creatures is returning to the Market this Saturday!

Starting at 10:30 AM, you’ll find them under our big tree near the music tent with all sorts of cute, cuddly, creepy, and scaly creatures for the kiddos to meet.

Curious Creatures will be joining us for an hour, so bring the kids, get up close with some fascinating animals, ask plenty of questions, and make a few new Market memories while you’re here.

See You Saturday!

With 45 vendors, live music, Curious Creatures, peak-season produce, prepared foods, baked goods, local makers, and plenty more to explore, it’s shaping up to be another wonderful Saturday at the lake.

As always, grab your totes, bring your family and friends, and come spend the morning with us.
