Celebrate National Farmers Market Week

There's no better time to celebrate the people who grow our food than National Farmers Market Week! This annual celebration recognizes the important role farmers markets play in supporting local agriculture, strengthening communities, and making fresh, seasonal food more accessible. This year's celebration takes place August 2–8.

Here at the Wakefield Farmers Market, we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible community that shows up week after week. Whether you're visiting for just a loaf of bread or filling your bags with produce, flowers, seafood, cheese, pasta, baked goods, and handcrafted products, every purchase you make has a ripple effect throughout our local economy.

When you shop at a farmers market, you're doing so much more than buying groceries.

You're supporting local farmers who work tirelessly to grow fresh, seasonal food. You're helping small businesses thrive, keeping farmland in production, preserving open space, and investing directly in your community. The dollars you spend stay close to home, supporting local families, creating jobs, and helping ensure that future generations can continue farming right here in Massachusetts.

And of course, there's the food itself.

Produce found at farmers markets is often harvested just hours, or the days, before it reaches your basket. That means better flavor, peak freshness, and the opportunity to truly eat with the seasons.

Vote for the Wakefield Farmers Market!

If the Wakefield Farmers Market has become part of your Saturday tradition, we'd be honored to have your vote!

We're participating in the American Farmland Trust's America's Farmers Market Celebration, a nationwide campaign celebrating the markets that bring communities together while supporting local farms. Every vote helps shine a spotlight on the importance of farmers markets and the people behind them.

If we've helped you discover a favorite farmer, introduced you to a new small business, become part of your weekend routine, or simply brought a little more joy to your Saturday mornings, we'd truly appreciate your support.
