As we dive into another vibrant season at the Wakefield Farmers Market, we’re excited to share some fresh news—our team is growing! This year, we’re welcoming a few new faces behind the scenes, and today we’re thrilled to introduce our new Assistant Manager, Laura Imhoff.

Laura brings a unique blend of creativity, hands-on farming experience, and a deep love for community-centered food systems. A Massachusetts native, Laura grew up working on local farms and has carried that early connection to the land throughout her life and career.
She studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in Boston, where her creative roots took hold. A talented musician, Laura has toured and performed across the country and has even booked and managed venues—skills that definitely come in handy when orchestrating a bustling farmers market!
Her journey then led her to Austin, Texas, where she worked at the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and became immersed in the world of farm-to-table education. It was during this time that she started farming and canning—skills that would soon blossom into entrepreneurial ventures. In 2014, Laura launched her first business, Made by Laura Lee, and later, after moving back to Massachusetts in 2020, she founded Roots & Spoon, a food business focused on seasonal, locally sourced goods.

Laura has worked closely with area farms like North of Boston, Paisley Farm, and Greenhouse, building strong relationships rooted in a shared mission: to nourish people with food grown sustainably and locally. She’s passionate about the idea that healthy people come from healthy food—and that healthy food starts with healthy soil. That philosophy aligns perfectly with the heart of Wakefield Farmers Market.
As Assistant Manager, Laura brings a deep understanding of local food systems, a creative spirit, and a fierce commitment to community. We’re incredibly lucky to have her on the team.
Please join me in welcoming Laura to the Wakefield Farmers Market family!
