What a wonderful Opening Day!
To everyone who joined us this past Saturday, thank you for helping make the start of the 2026 Wakefield Farmers Market season such a tremendous success. Throughout the day, we heard the same thing over and over again: this may have been the busiest Opening Day in market history. Wow!

The market was filled with smiling faces, full shopping bags, live music, fresh food, and a sense of community that reminded us exactly why this market matters.
We have a long list of people to thank.
Thank you to every member of our community who came out to support local farms, small businesses, artisans, food makers, and nonprofits. Every purchase, conversation, and visit helps strengthen our local economy and supports the hardworking people behind these businesses.
Thank you to our incredible vendors who show up week after week with fresh produce, handcrafted products, delicious prepared foods, and a passion for serving our community. The market is only as strong as the people behind the booths, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.
Thank you to our staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure Opening Day ran smoothly. From setup and parking assistance to SNAP support and answering countless questions throughout the day, your hard work does not go unnoticed.
Thank you to the Town of Wakefield for its continued support and for providing the beautiful setting of Hall Park for our weekly market. We are fortunate to gather in such a welcoming space along Lake Quannapowitt.
And finally, thank you to the Wakefield Farmers Market Board for months of planning, preparation, and support leading up to Opening Day. Markets don't happen overnight, and this successful launch was the result of many people working together toward a common goal.
It truly takes a village.
Seeing our community come together to support local businesses, connect with neighbors, enjoy live music, and celebrate local food is exactly what the Wakefield Farmers Market is all about.
Looking Ahead to Week 2
We're excited to carry that same energy and enthusiasm into our second week of the season. This Saturday, we'll welcome back several vendors who weren't able to join us on Opening Day, along with a handful of vendors making their Wakefield Farmers Market debut.
