Fall Is Creeping Into the Wakefield Farmers Market
Updated: 17 hours ago
As the seasons change, so do our flavors and cravings.
Iced tea turns into a hot brew. Blueberry mead makes way for apple flavors. Maple granola becomes a centerpiece. And the greens? They start tasting just a little sweeter as those cooler temperatures settle in.
That’s one of the best parts about shopping with the seasons. There’s always something new to look forward to, even from the vendors you visit every Saturday.
Fall is creeping into the Wakefield Farmers Market, and shopping local has never tasted better.

A Market That Changes With the Season
September is one of our favorite times at the market because summer and fall start overlapping.
There’s still plenty of beautiful late-summer produce to fill your bags, but those first signs of fall are beginning to appear throughout the market. Vendors like The Roasted Granola, Savanti Healing, Moonlight Farm, Blisspoint Meadery, Drive-By Pies, and so many others are shifting right along with the season.
It’s a great reminder that shopping seasonally isn't only about produce. The ingredients available to our farmers and food makers change, our own cravings change, and suddenly the things we reach for on a Saturday morning start changing too.

Boston Smoked Fish Is Back!
We know you've been asking, so we're very excited to welcome Boston Smoked Fish Co. back to Wakefield this Saturday! Swing by their booth to stock up on your favorites, including smoked fish, cured salmon bacon, smoked trout pâté, and plenty more.
And they're just one of the many small-batch food businesses joining us this week. Whether you're looking for something to bring home for dinner, a snack to eat while you wander, or something new to add to your pantry, there's plenty to discover.
Welcome Alexandra Kirby to the Market Stage
We’re also excited to welcome Alexandra Kirby to the Wakefield Farmers Market stage for the very first time! Alexandra is a singer-songwriter who blends original music with crowd favorites for dynamic, intimate performances. She’ll also be our first female soloist of the season!
Grab your market haul, find a spot on the grass, and stick around for some live music while you shop, snack, and spend your Saturday morning by the lake. A huge thank you to The Savings Bank for sponsoring live music at the market and helping us bring local musicians to Wakefield all season long.
There’s More to the Market Than Produce
We love our farmers and the incredible produce they bring to Wakefield every week, but one of the things we're especially proud of is just how much our market has grown beyond a place to grocery shop.
Come fill your bags with fresh produce. Stock up on pickles, jams, jellies, pasta, bread, cheese, seafood, and other small-batch foods. Grab something hot to eat while you shop. Browse handmade goods, artwork, and crafts from local makers.
Have a sweet tooth? Vendors like Secret Stash Sweets, Holy Moly Snacks, HealthyNut Snacks, and Heavenly Cookie have you covered. Looking for something savory? Grab some Mei Mei Dumplings or explore the many other prepared-food vendors throughout the market.
And if you're bringing the kids, be sure to see what Three Little Hearts has going on this week with their kids' sensory kits.

Stay Awhile
You don't have to rush through the market. Grab your coffee. Pick up your groceries. Find something delicious for breakfast or lunch. Listen to live music. Let the kids explore. Wander through the artisan booths. Find a spot on the grass and enjoy the lake.
Because sometimes the best part of the farmers market is simply sticking around for a while. We're pretty fortunate to have the space to welcome so many incredible farmers, food producers, artists, and small businesses each week. We're even prouder that the market has become a place where our community can gather while supporting them.
Whether you're coming to grocery shop, grab lunch, find a gift, listen to music, or simply see what catches your eye, there really is something for everyone.
We'll see you Saturday from 9 AM–1 PM at Hall Park!
