Flats Mentor Farm Returns to the Wakefield Farmers Market This Saturday

We hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July holiday! While we enjoyed a brief break, we are excited to welcome everyone back to the Wakefield Farmers Market this Saturday, July 11. Even better, the forecast is looking beautiful, making it the perfect morning to stroll the market, shop local, and reconnect with your favorite vendors.

We also have some exciting news to share...

Many of you have been asking about them since last season, and we're thrilled to announce that Flats Mentor Farm is returning to the Wakefield Farmers Market!

Located on a 70-acre agricultural incubator in Lancaster, Massachusetts, Flats Mentor Farm is operated by the nonprofit World Farmers. The farm supports more than 350 immigrant and refugee farmers representing 25 countries by providing access to farmland, equipment, mentoring, and market opportunities. Together, they're cultivating not only fresh produce but also opportunities for families to build sustainable farming businesses while preserving the agricultural traditions and culturally significant crops from their home countries.

This means you'll find an incredible variety of fresh Asian greens, specialty vegetables, herbs, and other seasonal produce that you may not see at a traditional grocery store. Every harvest reflects the knowledge, culture, and dedication of the farmers who grow it, making each visit to their stand an opportunity to discover something new.

This season also marks an exciting milestone, as Flats Mentor Farm's new market manager joins the Wakefield Farmers Market for the very first time.

Growing food has been a lifelong passion, rooted in the simple joy of planting, nurturing, and harvesting fresh produce. What began as a personal love of farming has grown into a commitment to sharing fresh, locally grown food with the community. Their focus is simple: grow high-quality produce with care, harvest it at its peak, and make healthy, locally grown food accessible to everyone.

They're especially looking forward to meeting members of the Wakefield community, getting to know fellow vendors, and becoming part of the vibrant atmosphere that makes our market so special.

Whether you're stocking up on your weekly produce, discovering a new favorite ingredient, or simply enjoying a morning by the lake, there's something for everyone at the market. Alongside Flats Mentor Farm, you'll find local fruits and vegetables, fresh bread, handmade pasta, artisan cheeses, seafood, baked goods, prepared foods, specialty products, live music, and so much more.

So grab your market tote, make your shopping list, and come hungry for all the incredible flavors our local vendors have to offer. We can't wait to welcome you back to Hall Park this Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

We'll see you at the market!
