Market Bags, Cash & a Little New England Weather

There’s something special about the farmers market in late August. Summer may be starting to wind down, but at the market, this is one of the most abundant times of the season!

Join us this Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM at Hall Park at Lake Quannapowitt for another morning filled with fresh food, local farms, small businesses, and plenty of reasons to stay awhile.

So Much More Than Produce

Of course, this is a fantastic time of year to visit our farmers. Stands are overflowing with beautiful seasonal produce, from tomatoes and corn to greens, herbs, flowers, and so much more. When you shop directly from a local farm, you’re not only bringing home incredibly fresh food — you have the opportunity to meet the people who actually grew it. But our market has so much more to explore!

This Saturday, you’ll find handmade soaps from Jennifer’s Handmade Soap, along with locally made goods and plenty of delicious things to bring home.

Looking for snacks? We’ve got you covered — whether you’re looking for something wholesome and nourishing or something a little more indulgent from Mind Body Snacks, Healthy Nut, or Holy Moly. After all, balance!

You can also stock your pantry with Mediterranean staples from Habibi Gourmet, discover fresh jams and spreads that are good for so much more than bread by Grateful Tastes, pick up baked goods and specialty foods, and find plenty of locally made products you might not expect to discover at a farmers market.

Come hungry, because there are also plenty of options to grab breakfast, lunch, a treat, or something to enjoy while you relax by the lake.

A Quick Market Tip: Bring Some Cash

We also want to give shoppers a quick heads-up before Saturday.

Cell service around Hall Park and the surrounding area has been particularly spotty lately. Because many of our vendors use mobile card readers, the unreliable signal can occasionally make processing card transactions difficult.

We recommend bringing a little cash as a backup when you visit the market. Many vendors will still accept cards when connectivity allows, but having cash on hand can make checkout easier if the signal decides not to cooperate. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we work with the Town to explore possible solutions.

Don't Let the Forecast Keep You Home!

As always, keep an eye on the weather and come prepared, but don't let a questionable forecast steer you away from the market. New England weather has a way of changing its mind, and we'll be ready for another Saturday at Hall Park.

Bring your market bag, bring a little cash, grab a friend, and come see what your local farmers, food makers, bakers, artisans, and small businesses have waiting for you this week.
