The Market May Be Taking a Break, But Supporting Local Never Has To

While there won't be a Wakefield Farmers Market on Saturday, July 4, our incredible vendors certainly aren't taking the week off.
One of the best parts about shopping at the market is discovering the amazing local businesses behind every loaf of bread, a dozen eggs, jar of jam, and fresh-picked vegetables. The market may only happen on Saturdays, but many of our vendors are serving the community all week long through storefronts, cafés, farm stands, online shops, and pre-orders.
If you're looking to shop local while the market is on break, here are a few ways to continue supporting your favorite vendors.

Visit Their Brick-and-Mortar Locations
Many of our vendors have storefronts where you can stop in throughout the week.
Be sure to visit:
Drive-By Pies
Life Love Cheese
Farmer Dave's
Purple Carrot Bread Company
Del Sur Empanadas
Mei Mei Dumplings
Healthy Nut Snacks
Bagels N Brew
Beraka Juice
INspire Café
Rise & Shine Coffee House

Whether you're grabbing breakfast, picking up lunch, stocking your fridge, or treating yourself to something sweet, these businesses would love to welcome you.
Shop Online
Did you know many of our vendors also have online stores?
Visit our Vendor Directory to browse their websites, place online orders, and learn more about the people behind the products. Shopping online is another easy way to support local, even when the market isn't in session.
Don't Forget to Pre-Order
Several vendors offer convenient pre-order options so your favorites are ready and waiting when the market returns on Saturday, July 11.
Be sure to check out:
Roberto's Seafood
Lilac Hedge Farm
Grateful Tastes
Secret Stash Sweets
Emmett's Edible Pet Treats

Don't see a pre-order option? Reach out anyway! One of the best things about buying from small businesses is that you're supporting real people—not large corporations. Chances are, the person baking your bread, growing your vegetables, raising your livestock, or preparing your favorite meal is the same person answering your message. Most of our vendors are happy to answer questions, accommodate requests when they can, or simply hear from the customers who support them week after week.
Small Businesses Need Our Support Every Day
Shopping local doesn't just happen on market mornings. Every purchase you make at a local farm, café, bakery, or specialty food business helps strengthen our local economy and keeps these small businesses thriving year-round.
So while we're taking a short break for the holiday weekend, we encourage you to explore, visit, and support the vendors that make the Wakefield Farmers Market such a special place.
We hope you have a safe and happy Fourth of July, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back to Hall Park on Saturday, July 11, for another wonderful day of fresh food, local shopping, live music, and community.
