Three Weeks Left: Savoring the Final Days of the Wakefield Farmers Market
It's hard to believe we're already down to the final three weeks of the Wakefield Farmers Market season. There's always something bittersweet about this time of year. After months of Saturday mornings spent along Lake Quannapowitt, catching up with familiar faces, discovering new businesses, and filling our bags with local goodness, we're beginning to say our seasonal goodbyes.
And while we're not quite ready to wrap things up, Mother Nature has a way of reminding us that the seasons are changing. The mornings are getting colder, the days are getting shorter, and for some of our vendors, this Saturday will be their last market of the season.

One of those vendors is Gaia's Greenscapes, whose stunning dinner plate-sized dahlias have been turning heads this season. With colder nights and the threat of frost, this will likely be their final appearance. If you've been admiring those gorgeous blooms, now is the time to bring some home! Think deep magentas, burnt oranges, rich reds, and all those beautiful colors that make autumn in New England so special. There's something particularly wonderful about bringing home fresh flowers this late in the season, knowing that we won't see blooms quite like these again until next year.
As we transition from fresh flowers to cozy kitchens, we also have some wonderful vendors worth seeking out this weekend.

Lifehaus Oils will be joining us for their final market of the season, bringing a delicious selection of infused oils featuring herbs, citrus, and spices. But there's more to discover at this booth than what you can bring home for dinner. Lifehaus also offers wellness services, making this a great opportunity to stop by, ask questions, and learn more about their offerings as we head into the colder months.
We're also excited to finally welcome Via Vanilla to the market! Originally scheduled to join us a few weeks ago, their visit was postponed when we had to cancel the market due to the storm. So this Saturday will be both their first and last appearance of the season. Based in Melrose, Massachusetts, Via Vanilla creates a wonderful assortment of vanilla extracts, each with its own unique flavor profile. And if you thought all vanilla extract tasted the same, you might be in for a surprise!
With holiday baking just around the corner, it's a wonderful opportunity to explore how one simple ingredient can bring something special to your favorite recipes.
Of course, the farmers market has always been about more than what's on the dinner table.
This Saturday, we'll also be saying goodbye for the season to several of our talented artisans and makers.
A&D Books will be bringing their collection of historic books, including some that explore the history of Wakefield itself. For those who love local history, there's something pretty special about discovering stories of the very community we gather in each Saturday.
Fern & Flow Candles will be joining us with their candles, perfect for making those cooler autumn evenings a little cozier. Washington Beach Designs will have their beautiful jewelry, and Three Little Hearts Sensory Kits will be set up near the music tent with creative sensory kits for children.

These businesses are a wonderful reminder that shopping at a farmers market isn't just about stocking your refrigerator. It's about discovering the creativity, talent, and hard work of people right here in our communities.
As market manager, one of my favorite things about the season is watching the relationships that develop over time. Customers return to their favorite booths, vendors get to know one another, and what starts as a simple Saturday shopping trip becomes part of someone's weekly routine.
That's what makes these final weeks feel a little different. We're not just wrapping up another market season. We're celebrating the connections we've made along the way.
So if you've been meaning to visit a particular vendor, try something new, or simply spend another Saturday morning by the lake, don't put it off too long. Some of our vendors will be wrapping up their seasons this weekend, and the final market will be here before we know it.
We still have three wonderful Saturdays ahead of us, and plenty of reasons to make the most of them.
Join us this Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM at Hall Park, along beautiful Lake Quannapowitt. Come shop, explore, catch up with your favorite vendors, and help us send off some of our seasonal businesses with a little extra love.
After all, these last few weeks are worth savoring.
