Market Day September 3
This Saturday, September 3 from 9am to 1pm, the Wakefield Farmers Market will be filled with freshly harvested fruits, veggies, locally raised meats, out of this world fish, dairy, and specialty foods you won’t find on any supermarket shelf. As I write this the weather is predicted to be the pick of the weekend, beautiful and in the 80s.
Balloons by Yarrow and Face painting by Cathy for the kids will be set up under the tree! Along with something for the adults, Dr. Eliot Smalheiser, PT, Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, Mobile Physical Therapy has generously donated his time and expertise to offer the Wakefield Farmers Market community complimentary neck and shoulder massage. I’ll see you in line.
The Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department joins us with all sorts of energy saving information and to answer questions. I can’t share this story enough because I was so pleased with my service from both local businesses. A few months ago our water heater burst. We replaced it with a tankless water heater (installed by sponsor and veteran owned JLB Plumbing & Mechanical - they did an incredible job. They were organized and meticulous, plus they cleaned up after themselves). Thanks to the WMGLD reps at the market, I learned everything I needed to apply online. Easy peasy and I did it while I got my shopping done!
The VFW Auxiliary to Harold O Young Post 2394 in Melrose.will be sharing information about the Auxiliary and its programs, such as their scholarship programs, which cover all ages from K-12 with various contests yearly. And also include raffles as well as fun giveaways for kids.
Tin Can Flower Truck with a wide variety of flowers to create your own special bouquet, the ladies were recently featured on Chronicle. Shayna Seymour even mentioned the Wakefield Farmers Market!
This week we will be missing Pour Man’s Coffee and Deano’s Pasta, both will return next week.
