Another week has flown by, and we can’t express how grateful we are to everyone who continues to come out and support the Wakefield Farmers Market. Each Saturday seems to outshine the last, and we are absolutely thrilled. The weather has been working in our favor, too — and this coming Saturday looks just as beautiful. Can you believe it? Perfect timing, because we have so much to celebrate this week!
While we typically use our Wednesday blog to highlight vendors, today we’d like to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who help make our market run — especially our volunteers.
One person who deserves a big shout-out is our longtime volunteer, Robin!
Robin has been volunteering with the Wakefield Farmers Market for over ten years. She’s a crucial part of our early morning setup crew, helps direct vendors, and keeps everything running smoothly. We are deeply grateful for her continued dedication every Saturday morning, and we look forward to celebrating many more seasons with her.If you see Robin at the market, be sure to say hello and let her know how much she’s appreciated!

Did you know it’s National Farmers Market Week?
That’s right! From August 3–9, we’re joining markets across the country in celebrating National Farmers Market Week. While we celebrate every Saturday on the lake, this week is dedicated to raising awareness about the vital role farmers markets play in our local communities, economy, and food systems. So get those totes and coolers ready, check out our vendor lineup, and most importantly — VOTE FOR US!
American Farmland Trust is hosting its annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration, where you can vote for your favorite local market (we hope it’s us!). Voting runs through August and September — so cast your vote, share the link with your friends and family, and help us spread the word!
Wait, there’s more!
As a nonprofit-run market, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes — and we’re currently looking for new board members and a Board President. If you’re passionate about local food, community connection, and nonprofit leadership, we’d love to hear from you. Learn more about getting involved on our Join Our Board Page.
We’ve covered a lot in today’s blog and we hope you can continue to celebrate our thriving market community this Saturday. Like we said, bring your tote and cooler and join us this Saturday, from 9 AM to 1 PM at Hall Park (468 North Avenue, Wakefield, MA), and we’ll be there every Saturday through October 25.
Be sure to stay connected through our website and social media channels for updates, vendor spotlights, and weekly entertainment lineups.
Thank you for supporting local — we’ll see you at the market!
